Essential HVAC
Well. It's been a hot minute since we've spoken, I see. Does anyone know where the last year went?
Is it time yet to make our way back to normalcy?
Dare I say....? I think the end of the pandemic is upon us. Schools are fighting hard to keep their students in-person learning. Entertainment revenues are eager to open back up their doors to public events, if they haven't yet gone out of business. For heaven's sake, people want to hug again! Well, not engineers, but that leaves still a big chunk of the population!

Hopefully you're reading this from your office computer wherever that might be - with co-workers or with your cat. Because let's be honest, our work didn't stop when the state shut down. Our work is never over. And now, we find ourselves in an important position to really affect the transmission of airborne pathogens that we could potentially breathe. As mechanical engineers, we can abide by and rely on the research done by our society and reference it when making decisions to be more stringent on the filters we specify and disinfection methods we instruct our facilities to employ.
Take a second to see what our society has done for us on our Resource Page on the main site. It really is amazing the work that has gone into this.
I would love to give a hearty pat on the back to the men and women working diligently to further this research and information to the engineers and designers to follow it but.... we all know that engineers don't like to be touched. A wave from a distance then. Followed by a glob of hand sanitizer for good measure.
Stay Cool,
